KBSG SIGNS MOU FOR YAURI TOWNSHIP ROADS PROJECT AT N3.8B                                                                               06-11-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         The Kebbi State Government, has signed a memorandum of understanding with China Zhounghau for the reconstruction of Yauri township roads at the cost of 3.8 billion naira.

The state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abdullahi Umar Faruk, said the contract entails the rehabilitation and construction of roads which includes the Local Government-Dawanau Junction, Market Roundabout,Tashar Garkuwa, Garkan Duku Liberia Junction and Police Station/Union Bank road at cost of N3, 854 billion naira.

He said the sign of the road projects was in line with Governor Nasiru Idris urban renewal programme that will give facelift to the state capital, Birnin Kebbi, the four Emirates headquarters, three senatorial districts and 21 local government headquarters.

According to the Commissioner, this was in fulfilment of Governor Nasiru Idris campaign promises to the electorates that he awarded the rehabilitation and construction of the city centre roads in Birnin Kebbi to the tune of 9.040,632 billion naira and completion of the ultra modern secretariat complex at the cost of 10. 587 billion naira.

The representative of the contract firm, Mr. Wei Merg, assured the completion of the project at the stipulated time period.

The completion period for the project is eighteen months from the date of the Signing of the MOU.
