COLONEL SANI BELLO FOUNDATION OFFERS FREE SURGICAL OPERATION AS BIRTHDAY GIFT IN KONTOGARA 26-11-22
By Sadiq Aminu Former Kano state military administrator and Chairman Sani Bello Foundation Colonel Sani Bello retired says he feels fully fulfilled whenever he sees the smiles on the faces of people with various degree of illness that ordinarily cannot afford such medical bills being treated free of charge.
He stated this during a free surgical festival in Kontagora local government area of Niger state organised by the Sani Bello Foundation in collaboration with Graceland Health Development Foundation held at Kontagora General Hospital.
Colonel Sani Bello who appealed to wealthy individuals to always assist the poor said anytime the sees the sparkling smiles on the faces of the poor whom he doesn’t know them and coming from Lagos Akwa Ibom Imo Sokoto or Kano and other states in Nigeria he appreciate himself and and thanked God for the favours he has done to him.
According to the elderstatesman he rather use his money to serve humanity in taken care of their health during his birthday instead of spending collosal amount of resources to hold big party for dignatories that doesn’t even need food which he described as a waste of money and time.
Alhaji Sani Bello further explaned that the annual free surgical festival is more of his eighty one year birthday gift to the patient towards bringing soccur and relief to them.
The Chairman Graceland Health Development Foundation Kaduna Dr Tohot Dogo said through the ten year collaboration they have successfully operated thirteen thousand people including major and minor surgeries such aye surgery cataract and provision of glasses among others while what they cannot do the foundation wall sponsor it to places that could be done.
Vice Chairman Sani Bello Foundation Dr Usman Sani Bello called on well to do individuals to compliment governments efforts in the provision of effective health care services saying that the foundation has donated an incubator to Kontagora General Hospital which had contributed immensely in saving the lives of babies.
Director General Sani Bello Foundation Mr Zakari Ikani said their target for this year is three hundred and fifty but most often they over shoot their target to four hundred and in most cases upto five hundred and that they have some in house doctors that help them to continue with the treatment embarked by the visiting doctors.
Ailments to be treated during the five day festival includes fibroid appendicitis lumps hernia and goitre among others.
