2 ARRESTED BY NASARAWA STATE POLICE FOR STARVING A 35 YEAR OLD TO DEATH OVER WITCHCRAFT 04-12-23
By Sadiq Aminu Two family members of a 35 year old man, Mallam Mohammed Sani have been arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command for starving him to death over alleged involvement in witchcraft.
Acting Commissioner of Police Mr Shettima Muhammed stated this in Lafia while parading Eighteen suspects for committing various crimes including kidnapping, armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms at different locations across the state.
Mr. Shettima Muhammad explained that the suspects, Hassan Ismail and Mohammed Sani of Agyaragun Tofa village of Lafia Local Government Area of the state allegedly tied up both hands and legs of the deceased, locked him up till he died of starvation.
He stated that when the attention of neighbours were drawn to the decomposing body, the suspects hurriedly buried the deceased in a shallow grave within the area.
Mr. Shettima Muhammed noted that efforts had been intensified to arrest all individuals involved in the dastardly act to face the full wrath of the law.
Also arrested was a 41 year old man Habu Yusuf for allegedly defiling three minors, among which are two daughters of his elder brother under the ages of between 5 Five and Eight years in Nasarawa Eggon local government area.
