FOOD SECURITY: ECOWAS, ARMTI TRAIN 150 YOUTH ON FISH, VEGETABLE FARMING                                                                                                                18-12-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       At least One hundred and fifty Youths below thirty five years of age have been trained on fish and vegetable farming by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in collaboration with the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), Ilorin, Kwara state.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the programme held at the institute’s headquarters, Ilorin, the ARMTI executive director, Dr. Olufemi Oladunni, said that the training programme is aimed at empowering the beneficiaries drawn from six geopolitical zones of the country.

According to him the programme would also help take care of the nation’s food and nutritional security.

Dr.Oladunni expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would make life out of the enterprise with resultant financial breakthrough.

He noted that the participants would be empowered after the training programme to ensure easy take off.

In his comment the leader of the participants, Olayiwola Damilola, assured that they will make use of the opportunity to improve themselves.
