By Sadiq Aminu                                                        The Kano State Government has concluded arrangements to reach out to wealthy individuals for funds to provide critical infrastructure and facilities to raise the standard of basic education in the state.

Governor Abba Yusuf stated this during a media parley held at government house Kano.

He said that the decision was part of measures to shore up the sector which the government had since declared a state of emergency.

” We can’t fund education sector alone without the support and assistance from wealthy residents hence the need for as a government to reach out for the task ahead.

” This is part of efforts to ensure that various stakeholders make meaningful contribution towards revamping the hitherto moribund sector.

” This is also aimed at providing proper foundation for education, especially at the basic and secondary levels to ensure optimal performance.

” We will reach out to wealthy individuals, corporate organizations, development partners and donor agencies in this direction”,he said.

Governor Yusuf stressed that the administration was committed to providing quality education to the youths, so as to guarantee a stable future for them.

He urged wealthy residents to emulate the government gestures in sponsoring qualified indigenes to further their education.

” There is need to show love to others, particularly those who are less-privileged and the Almighty Allah will ensure that their pockets never run dry.

” We cannot leave the education and training of our children for the government or the parents alone.
