RE-RUN ELECTIONS: WE ARE READY FOR HITCH -FREE EXERCISE- KANO REC                                                    09-01-24               By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent Electoral Commission INEC in Kano Ambassadors Abdu Zango said the commission has concluded all the necessary arrangements for the conduct of Re-run Elections for state Assembly seats in 6 local government areas of the state.

Ambassador Abdu Zango disclosed this during a stakeholders meeting on the scheduled court order Re-run Elections which would be conducted on the 3rd February 2024 in the State.

He said the Re-run elections would be conducted in three constituencies which includes Kunchi-Tsanyawa,Kura -Garun Malam, and Rimin Gado -tofa local government areas.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner noted that votes would be cast in 66 polling units.

Ambassador Abdu Zango maintained that INEC had already deployed non sensitive materials to all the affected local government areas, stressing that the sensitive materials would be deployed a day to the election.

Ambassador Abdu Zango explained that BVAS Machine would be used during the Re-run elections aimed at ensuring free, fair and credible election

In his remark the Kano commissioner of police Mohammad Hussein Gumel represented by CSP Abubakar Hamma Assured the general populace of Maxim security before ,during and after the Conduct of the Re-run elections.

He explained that adequate security network has already being mapped out geared towards ensuring that the Re-run elections were being conducted peacefully.
