NPC: EXCLUSION OF 6 BORNO LGAs IN NDHS SURVEY NOT RELATED TO INSECURITY                                                                                                            10-01-24           By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The National Population Commission NPC Borno state says the exclusion of six local government areas in the ongoing 2023/2024 National Demographic and Health Survey NDHS was not due in insecurity.

In a statement by the State Director of the Commission, Malam Haruna Ibrahim explains that process of selecting partipating local governments and communities across the state was purely done through random sampling.

It adds that the random selection was not peculiar to Borno but all the thirty six states and the FCT.

“The Commission wishes to clarify that the non inclusion of Magumeri, Marte, Mobbar, Chibok, Abadam and Guzamala local governments in ongoing National Demographic and Health survey NDHS were not due insecurity as was reported ” Ibrahim says.

The statement explains that areas such as Baga, Kala-Balge and Damboa have already been covered by the exercise.

The Commission wishes to reiterated its readiness to conduct the survey in all the selected local governments and request maximum support from the public to ensure a hitch-free survey.
