OVER 15 WOMEN CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS PERFORMS ROAD WORK IN YOBE                                                                                                     12-01-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     Yobe State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Barrister Saleh Samanja, has assured Women Civil Society Organizations in the State that late Ammi Adamu Mamman and her family will surely get Justice as investigations are still on going on the cause and reasons for her Murder.

The State Commissioner made the disclosure when he received a delegation of over 15 Women Civil Society Organizations in his office in Damaturu, seeking for a thorough investigation into the gruesome murder of Late Mrs Ammi Adamu Mamman in her matrimonial home on January 4th, 2024.

Samanja explained to the women that the perpetrator of such inhumane act would never be allowed to go free, as all hands are on deck to ensure justice and fairness.

“this issue has touched the heart of every citizen of Yobe State, and I assure you, the ministry of Justice is really the ministry of Justice, I had you shouting”justice for Ammi” and I assure you Ammi will get Justice” Bar. Samanja said.

Barrister Samanja while extending his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, said government will take drastic measures against actors of gender and domestic violence.

The Representatives from the over 15 Women Civil Society Organizations whom proceeded to the state House of Assembly, were received by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Ya’u Usman Dashiya.

Addressing the women, the Deputy Speaker assured of the his support and cooperation to ensure the perpetrator is brought to book.

” I want to assure you that under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni, no criminal will get a hiding place in the State, we are watching, and we are confident that our security operatives will do all that it takes and the judiciary are also ready to take immediate action”. the Deputy Speaker added.

The Commissioner Humanitarian Affairs and Social Welfare Yobe State, Hajiya Dr. Mairo Ahmed Amshi, who led the peaceful road work, which started from the Damaturu Stadium, to the State Secretariat Complex and later to the State House of Assembly, advocated for serious punishment to the culprits.

“we are calling on this Honorable House to please do justice to this lady, I am talking not as a Commissioner, but as a mother, sister and daughter, if such should happen to any of us, how would one feel?” Dr. Mairo added.

The Chairperson National Council of Women Civil Society Organizations Yobe State, Fatima Jibrila Kolo, presented their letter of demands to the State House of Assembly and the Ministry of Justice, regarding the killing of Late Ammi Adamu Mamman.
