ONDO LAWMAKERS CHARGE DSS TO UNRAVEL THE CAUSE OF EXPLOSION IN IBADAN                                                                                                                      17-01-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      Federal Lawmakers from Oyo State has urged the Department of State Security, DSS, to thoroughly investigate into the incident of explosion in Ibadan that has claimed several lives and property in the state, to unravel the immediate and remote causes of the explosion
At a news briefing in Abuja a member member representing Ibadan North West/South West of Oyo State Mr. Stanley Olajide, explained that State Policing will help to tackle incident of dynamite explosion by illegal miners such as what happened yesterday.
“It’s unfortunate, but the information that we got it is that one of these illegal miners actually was in possession of this explosive in a residential area, which eventually cause this disaster. But we will find out more information.”
Mr. Olajide emphasized that Community Policing would have detect illegal miners in a possession of explosive material such as the Dynamite.

Community policing is actually one of the very smartest way to police your people. somebody sees something somebody knows something, they need to speak at the right time.

“Failure to do so will cause situation like this. So, we are going to reopen that because remember, we’ve also been talking about State Police, we’ll be talking about Community Police.
Another Federal Lawmaker Mr. Ademorin Kuye, while condoling with the people who lost their loved ones stressed the need for fiscal Federalism, where the establishment of state police would be guaranteed.
The Lawmakers also commended the prompt intervention of governor Seyi Makinde and other stakeholders for their rapid respond to the situation.
