KWARA GOVERNOR SIGNS 2024 APPROPRIATION, LG AMENDMENT BILLS INTO LAW                                                                                                 26-01-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has signed the 2024 Appropriation Bill of over Two Hundred of Ninety-two Billion Naira into law.

The budget had Sixty-one per cent capital expenditure and Thirty-nine per cent recurrent expenditure.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq explained that the the Sixty-one per cent budgeted for Capital Expenditure was a deliberate move to scale up infrastructural development and grow the economic base of the state on a sustainable basis,

He commended the State House of Assembly for doing a good job with the budget and for making sure that it is State Action on Business Enabling Reforms, SABER, compliant,

Governor Abdulrasaq also assented to the Local Government Amendment Bill, assuring that local government elections would hold soon.

The Governor thanked the Tenth legislature for the role it plays on the Local Government Elections bill, which he noted would now paves the way for the conduct of the elections.

In a remark, the Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Mr Yakubu Salihu Danladi commended Governor AbdulRazaq for being one of the first state governors to comply with the SABER template for budget process, and for working so hard to reduce the debt profile of the state.

Mr Yakubu Danladi noted that the budget touched all sectors, and would greatly benefit Kwarans.
