APC SWEEPS BYE, RE-RUN ELECTIONS IN KEBBI STATE                                                                                                           04-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, have won the Bye and Re-run elections held on Saturday in kebbi State.

The Returning Officer for Dandi/Arewa federal constituency, Professor Aliyu Abdullahi, said Garba Umar Kamba of the All Progressives Congress, APC, polled 32,432 votes to defeat his opponent, Abdullahi Umar-Kamba of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who polled 31,858 votes in the rerun election.

APC also won the bye election in Yauri/Shanga/ Ngaski Federal Constituency as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Garba Umar (bullet) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the election.

The Returning Officer, Professor Abass Yusuf Bazata,, declared that the APC candidate secured 54,885 votes, defeating his opponent from the PDP, Garba Hassan, who polled 16,652 votes.

INEC has presented certificate of return to Garba Umar.

Garba Umar will replace Tanko Yusuf Sununu, who was appointed Minister of State for Education by President Bola Tinubu in 2023.
