By Sadiq Aminu Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has reaffirmed the determination of his Administration in restoration of the states Commercial Glory which is gradually fading.
The Governor stated this during a meeting with the business community and other stakeholders held at government house Kano.
He said the rate at which inflation is on the high increase on food stuff and other daily needs was very alarming, hence their was the urgent need to put heads together with a view to finding lasting solution to the menace .
“The purpose of this gathering is to fine tuned modalities on how to address the menace of High inflation, because people are really suffering and we need to do something about this ”
He said Government would do everything possible to providing enabling environment to the business community,stressing that the business community should also reciprocate through adequate payment of tax,so that government would generate revenue to perform optimally.
” we are begging you the business community to pls shun hoarding of food stuff in warehouses , pls bring it out and sell it to the public to curtail the high increase of food stuff, especially at this moment that fasting of Ramadan is quite approaching”
Governor Abba Kabir noted that He will personally meet president Bola Ahmad Tinubu to intimate him about the hardship the people of Kano are encountering due to inflation with a view to providing succour to the people.
Earlier, The Commissioner of Commerce Alhaji Abbas Sani Abbas said the meeting was very timely, geared towards providing solution to the current Hardship people were facing .
during the meeting, modalities were discussed on the way forward.
