KANO SHARIA COURT REMANDED FAMOUS TICK-TOCK ER MURJA KUNYA IN CORRECTIONAL CENTER                                                                            14-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     A Sharia Court in Gama PRP Kano, presided over by Justice Nura Yusuf Ahmed, has ordered the remand of a popular Tiktoker, 26 year old Murja Ibrahim Kunya, in a Correctional Center for allegedly inciting public disturbance, public nuisance.

The defendant, who lives at Tishama, Hotoro Quarters, Nasarawa local government area Kano, is standing trial on a three-count charge of inciting public disturbance, belonging to a criminal gang and criminal intimidation.

The Prosecution Counsel, Aminu Abdullahi informed the court that, the Kano State Hisbah Board arrested the defendant after receiving several complains from members of the public that,Murja Kunya usually terrorize their area by bringing bad boys at midnight.

He further explained that, part of the complaints includes inciting disturbance and using social media to disturb members of the public.

He added that, the members of the public also complained that the defendent trains their children on prostitution.

“You even said it in one of your videos which went viral that you are the leader of all the prostitute in the city”

He pointed out that, the offence contravened section 341, 275 and 227 of the Penal Code.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The defence counsel Aliyu Umar Faruk applied for bail.

Justice Nura Yusuf Ahmad, ordered the remand of the defendant in a Correctional Center.

He adjourned the matter until Feb. 20th 2024 for ruling on bail application.
