By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The member representing Jere Federal constituency in the national assembly, Honourable Ahmed Satomi has disbursed one hundred and forty million naira empowerment package to 162 farmers in his constituency.

At a ceremony to the flag off the empowerment programme in Maiduguri, Honourable Satomi said the initiative is to create millionaires on cattle farming, Agro allied and other agricultural value chain in Jere federal constituency.

According to the lawmaker, ninty one people would receive one million naira each while the remaining will get N500,000 each to buy ruminants like goats and sheep.

“These would at least revive the almost lost occupation that our people are known for, boost livestock agriculture and provide employment to our people,” said Hon Satomi.

Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum lauded the lawmaker for his gesture and urged beneficiaries to make proper use of the opportunity so that they can also empower others.

He said, if the funds are carefully utilized, the amount invested would double the return in investment in just a year.

Mallam Umar Mohammed who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, said they are fortunate to be selected for the support and would justify the confidence in them by making good use of the opportunity.
