PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MRS. ZUBAIDA UMAR AS THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF NEMA, OTHERS 15-02-24
By Sadiq Aminu President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs. Zubaida Umar as the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
Mrs. Umar is the first woman to be appointed as Director-General of this pivotal agency, and her appointment further underlines the President’s avowed commitment to gender inclusion.
Also approved is the appointment retired Brigadier-General Lawal Ja’afar Isa as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.
The President has also approved the appointment of Alhaji Tijani Hashim Abbas as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Chieftaincy Matters.
General Ja’afar Isa is a respected leader and was Military Administrator of Kaduna State from 1993 to 1996, while Alhaji Tijani Hashim Abbas is the Sarkin Sudan Kano.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, says the President anticipates that the new appointees will bring their vast experience into efforts to make impact on the wellbeing of Nigerians.
