GOVERNOR CHUKWUMA SOLUDO REAFFIRMS HIS RESOLVE TO DELIVER DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY 18-03-24
By Sadiq Aminu Governor Soludo gave the assurance during the Pontifical Mass of Thanksgiving organized to mark the two years of his administration held at the International Convention center in Awka.
The Governor explained that despite the lean resources at his disposal, his administration was still deliberate and passionate in rebuilding the state to regain its pride of place in the comity of states through the prioritization of the five cardinal agenda of his administration, which include security, law and order, infrastructure and economic agenda, human capital development , education and social agenda and environment.
The Governor revealed that his administration has a master plan for urban regeneration through the Anambra Water Scheme, Infrastructure Development, while hinting on plans to dualize roads leading from Nnewi and Ekwulobia to the capital city.
Professor Soludo who stated that human capital development remains Anambra’s greatest asset, noted that appointments and the recruitment of teachers as well as the one youth two skills programme were not based on ethnicity, religious or political affiliation but strictly on merit.
Earlier during a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, the Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, while reflecting on the 2 years of the governor in office, commended him for finding it worthy to conduct a thanksgiving service to mark the event.
The Catholic Prelate noted that the achievements of the governor so far were unprecedented since the history of the state, noting that he has done remarkably well in all the sectors of the economy.
The Catholic Bishop of Awka commended the state government for enacting the Anambra State law for burial which was initiated by the church to check frivolous expenses during burial and funeral ceremonies.
Also speaking, a former Secretary General of Commonwealth of Nations, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, expressed happiness over what he described as an excellent performance by Governor Soludo since he assumed office two years ago, saying that it was so glarring for all to see.
