NLC DEMANDS IMMEDIATE PAYMENT OF WITHHELD NASU, SSANU SALARIES                                                          18-03-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) has demanded for the immediate payment of four months withheld salaries of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational (NASU) and Associated Institutions and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU).

A statement by the President of the NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero says there is no credible reason or explanation for withholding their salaries in the first place.

Comrade Ajaero explained that the action has plunged the members into untold hardship and discriminatory treatment.

“The toll on all the parties will be unacceptably, especially for students and parents who bear the burden of movement on the roads. he noted.

Comrade Ajaero advised federal government to expeditiously pay up their outstandings.

The Unions on Monday began 7-day warning strike to demand for their withheld salaries.
