By Sadiq Aminu                                                      From Delta State comes a report that Christians in large number celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in their various churches in Asaba.

A visit to some churches revealed that Christians were dressed in their best attires, offering praises to God for the opportunity given to celebrate another Easter .

The worshippers said they were happy to be in church, despite the tough economic situation, to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and emulate his virtues.

Meanwhile, a clergyman, who spoke to Africa 247 correspondent, Pastor Emmanuel Ibiwoye of Living Faith Church, Asaba, in a message entitled Understanding the Wonders of Jesus Resurrection, said the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ had reconciled man back to God.

Pastor Ibiwoye highlighted other purposes of Jesus resurrection to include paying the price for the sin of mankind, expression of God’s love for humanity.

The man of God urged Christians to serve God faithfully, by emulating the virtues of Jesus Christ.

He admonished Nigerians to be ready to sacrifice for the good of humanity by showing love and care for one another especially the needy.

Meanwhile, the town of Asaba is peaceful as the residents gathered in various recreational places to celebrate the Easter .

The major market in Asaba, Ogbeogonogo Ultra Modern market is opened as many were sighted making purchases despite the high cost of foodstuff.
