GOVERNOR MUTFWANG RECEIVES NEWLY SWORNED-IN PLATEAU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY MEMBERS

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      Nine newly sworn-in members of the Plateau State House of Assembly have been formally presented to Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

Speaker of the Assembly, Gabriel Dewan presented them in the early hours of Friday at Government House, Rayfield.

Presenting the newly sworn in members of the State Assembly to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the Speaker Gabriel Dewan explained that the action followed the Appeal Court Judgement declaring them winners of the last State Assembly election.

The Speaker also announced Isah Madaki Ajiji representing Jos East constituency as the new Deputy Speaker among other officials to oversee the legislative arm.

Governor Mutfwang while receiving them, expressed joy over the development, noting that the action has vindicated him and has also put to an end the rancour that was rearing its head to consume the legislative arm of government.

He however, tasked them on the need to settle down and lend their voice to good governance for peace and development of the State.

Eight of the new state legislators are of the All Progressives Congress APC with one from the Labour Party.

The visit had principal officers of the legislature and state executives in attendance.
