HAWAN DAUSHE: POLICE UNCOVER PLANS TO DISRUPT ACTIVITIES IN KANO……..

The Police Command in Kano State, said it had uncovered plans by some political pressure groups to disrupt the Hawan Daushe festivities in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel disclosed this to journalist in Kano.

He said the command is in position of intelligence and credible information on their plans to stage.

“We are in position of intelligence information that some youth under the guise of clusters of some political admirers to our Sen.Barau Jibrin are planning to storm the venue of the Durbar in political regalia. ”

He Noted that the action is highly likely to attract counter/reaction and ultimately lead to breakdown of law and order.

“We have adopted proactive security measures to deal decisively with any person or group of people found fermenting trouble during and after the Hawan Daushe celebration in our area of supervision”

Gumel said that the Area commanders and divisional Police officers have been directed to contain any security threat to residents in their areas.

He explained that already the command have  sustained surveillance and patrols is continuing in order to keep the entire state peace for smooth implementation of all the programme schedule for Sallah festivities.

The CP assured the people of the command’s readiness to maintain law and order during and after the festival.

“The command is aware of plans by some identified political pressure groups to disrupt Hauwan Daushe

“The plans that have been uncovered show that their aim is to disrupt the Sallah activities, the existing peace in the state,”

He added that the command has strengthened security with increased surveillance around the locations where the elements would gather, especially Kofar Nassarawa, Kofar Mata, Kofar Wambai and Kofar Kudu.
