OPHD CARRIED OUT AN OFFENSIVE AGAINST TERRORIST, BANDITS IN ZAMFARA STATE, TO RESTORE PEACE AND SECURITY IN THE REGION 12-04-24
By Sadiq Aminu The joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) carried out a successful offensive against terrorist bandits in Zamfara State, aiming to restore peace and security in the region.
According to a press release from Lieutenant Suleiman Omale, information officer of the OPHD, the troops engaged in a fierce gun battle in Babbar Doka, Kabaro, Gobirawar Challi, general areas in Maru local government area resulting in the killing of 12 terrorists and the recovery of weapons and assets.
The recovered items included 1 AK-47 rifle, 1 magazine, 2 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 1 locally made gun, 1 Dane gun, and 18 cows. Additionally, 10 motorcycles belonging to the terrorists were seized and subsequently destroyed.
Brigadier General S Ahmed praised the troops’ bravery and urged them to maintain their efforts until normalcy is restored. He also thanked Major General GM Mutkut for his support in guiding the troops.
This operation demonstrates OPHD’s commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and eradicating terrorism in Zamfara State and the wider Northwest region.
