ACCOUNTANTS UNDER PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT CHARGED TO OBTAIN RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATES OR RISK LOSING THEIR JOBS 15-04-24
By Sadiq Aminu Accountants in the employment of the Plateau State government have been charged to obtain the relevant professional certificates or risk losing their jobs.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang gave the directive at a four day workshop organised by the office of the Accountant General for accountants serving with the State. Government.
Declaring the event open, Governor Caleb Mutfwang opined that based on the importance attached to their profession, it had become necessary for them to aquire the needed expertise.
Governor Mutfwang also charged them to adhere to their service ethical codes in the discharge of their duties, and to use the opportunities of such workshops to improve financial prudence.
In their separate goodwill messages, State Monitor of the FIRS, Mister Abdullahi Ibrahim and the State Head of Service, Mrs Rauta Dakok called on the participants to take advantage of the workshop to improve the financial fortunes of the State.
In a remark, State Accountant General Mrs Nanret Mangset applauded the doggedness and resilience of the Governor towards promoting accountability for good governance.
The four day workshop with the theme: Understanding Public Finance Management in a Modern Economy, is aimed at sharpening the accounting knowledge and skills of the accountants.
