NIGERIA’S FIRST LADY LAUNCHES RENEWED HOPE INITIATIVE WOMEN AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT PROGRAMME FOR NORTH WEST ZONE IN KEBBI STATE                                                                                                               16-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched the Renewed Hope Initiative Women Agricultural Support Programme for North West Zone in Kebbi State.

Speaking on the occasion, the First Lady, stated that the Initiative would support One Hundred and Fourty women in agriculture with the sum of five hundred thousand naira each and One Hundred person with Special Needs are to be supported with One Hundred Thousand Naira each.

Represented by the Wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fatima Tajuddeen Abbas, said the Initiative would collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to ensure food security and food sustainability in the country.

She therefore emplore the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money and the equipment given to them by supporting the nation’s food security.

The Wife of the Kebbi state Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasiru Idris, in her address, supported the Nigeria’s First Lady benevolence by supporting each of the One Hundred and Fourty beneficiaries with Solar water pumping machines and each person with Special Needs with assorted food items.

She however urged other first lady’s of the six states of the North West to do the same in their states to support women farmers.

Governor Nasiru Idris of Kebbi State, said the concept is timely and would stimulate women involvement in agricultural activities across the nation.

He said, Government must support women in agriculture to ensure growth and sustainability of the sector and strengthen industries to drive the nation’s growth and development.
