NSCDC INTERCEPTS TRUCK LADENED WITH ILLEGALLY PROCURED SOLID MINERALS IN KADUNA STATE               23-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                              The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps-NSCDC has intercepted a truck ladened with Illegally Procured solid minerals in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The State Commandant, Mrs Lucy Fakoya disclosed this while addressing newsmen at the Command’s headquarters in Kaduna.

Mrs Lucy Fakoya explained that on the 19th of April, operatives of the Command intercepted a truck around Tudun Wada, Kafanchan loaded with thirty-seven tonnes of solid mineral products called MICA, mostly used by cosmetic industries valued at over nine million naira.

She pointed out that the operatives had already arrested four suspects in connection with the crime, while four others were also arrested same day, conveying variety of solid minerals in sacks loaded in a pick-up van.

The Commandant said the eight suspects were arrested while conveying the seized products enroute Lagos from Kaduna State.

Mrs Fakoya added that all the exhibits are currently in the custody of the Command headquarters for further diligent investigation and prosecution.
