HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RECOMMEND DEDICATED FUNDS TO ENSURE SAFETY OF SCHOOLS                                                                                                                               30-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The House of Representatives has recommended for the establishment of a dedicated fund specifically for school safety.
The Speaker House of Representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas stated this during the resumption of Plenary after Easter and Sallah break by the House.
The speaker said the fund will support the implementation of advanced security measures and training of security personnel and communities on strategies for protecting educational environments.
According to Dr. Abbas, the House would continue to dialogue with the security sector to identify Legislative gaps hindering operational effectiveness.
The House also recommended for the establishment of a joint task force dedicated to addressing illegal mining and mineral theft.
The Speaker said the 10th Assembly will continue to to support the executive to improve the nation’s democratic and socioeconomic development.
