ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND WARNS MISCREANTS TO DESIST FROM NEFARIOUS ACTIVITIES AS AWKA CELEBRATES “IMOKA”                                                                         28-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The Police Command in Anambra state has warned miscreants to desist from their nefarious activities as Awka town celebrates its cultural feastival known as Imoka.

The Commissioner of Police in the state,Mr Nnaghe Itam gave this warning in Awka,while speaking with some organizers of the event.

Mr Itam explained that he would not tolerate the molestation of the residents of the state in the guise of Imoka celebration.

He reiterated that the Command was commitment in enforcing the law and ensuring public safety.

The Police Boss however, urged the organizers to work with the Police to ensure that the celebration went hitch-free.

He encouraged residents alike especially the Awka indigenes to be law-abiding, vigilant, and security-conscious at all times.

In a release, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga said, Mr Itam had directed the deployment of Officers to intensify confidence-building and crime prevention patrols in some identified areas in Awka.
