AIRLIFT OF INTENDING PILGRIMS FROM NIGER STATE COMMENCED AT BOLA AHMED TINUBU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MINNA 5 YEARS AFTER                                                                                                                                 30-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               Airlift of intending Muslim pilgrims and Hajj officials from Niger State has commenced at the just completed Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, the State Capital.

Over four hundred intending pilgrims including State officials, were airlifted to the holy land as the first batch for the spiritual exercise.

This is the first time in five years that Muslim pilgrims from the State are airlifted straight to Saudi Arabia due to bad terminal and other challenges at the Airport.

Addressing the intending pilgrims before departure, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago urged them to pray for the State in particular and the Country in general for peace and prosperity.

While also advising them to be good ambassadors in the holy land, the Governor announced that each of the pilgrims was paid two hundred dollars by the State Government for Ram sacrifice.

Governor Bago also encouraged them to consult State officials, the State Amirul Hajj or the Chairman of the Hajj Commission in the event of any challenge.

He used the medium to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for being instrumental in the completion of the airport terminal, which he said has paved way for the license to airlift intending pilgrims from Minna.

The State Amirul Hajj and Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmed Attahiru Gunna II, expressed gratitude to the Governor for the tireless efforts to ensure the commencement of the exercise from Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna.

Africa 247 correspondent Sadiq Aminu reports that Three Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Three intending pilgrims from Niger State are expected to be airlifted for this year’s hajj in Eight Scheduled flight.
