By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The tripartite Committee on the National Minimum Wage has recommended N62,000 for the new Minimum Wage.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Imo State Governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma said the the committee would forward their recommendation to President Bola Tinubu for necessary action.

President of Trade Union Congress(TUC), Comrade Festus Osifo who spoke on behalf of the organized Labour said Labour recommended N250,000 for the new minimum wage.

Comrade Osifo maintained that the federal government must consider the plight of the workers and cost of living.

The Chairman of the Tripartite Committee on National New minimum wage, Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji said the two recommendations would be sent to the president to act on it.

Also present at the meeting are the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Dr Nkieruka Onyejeocha, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen Abubakar Bagudu, Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun, Chairman, Chairman of Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage, Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji.
