SALLAH RAMS: KANO RESIDENTS DECRIES HIGH COST OF RAMS, OTHER ANIMALS USED FOR SALLAH SACRIFICE 11-06-24
By Sadiq Aminu Residents of Kano were Seriouly Complaining about the Hike in the prices of Animals used for Sallah Sacrifice, especially Rams, Cows and Camels among others.
Africa 247 correspondent who monitored the current situation in Kano reports that various types of Animals were displayed in different markets meant for selling the Animals in the Kano Metropolis.
Malam Haladu Bala one of the dealers of Animals at Kofar Na’isa Animals market said they are selling a camel at the rate of one point five million Naira up to eight hundred thousand Naira ,while a ram is being Sell at the rate of three hundred and fifty thousand Naira while the lowest price of a Ram is eighty thousand Naira.
” We’ve brought our commodities ” Rams, Camels and Cow” for sell as is the tradition every year but the rate at which buyers come to buy these commodties is very low, may be due to the economic hardship, I think if we are not that lucky we’ll be left with our commodities.”
Malam Badamasi Bashir was among the buyers that visited the Kofar Na’isa Animals market to buy an Animal for the Sallah Sacrifice, he said the money he came with was not enough to buy a good Animal for the sacrifice, He said the Hike of Animals prices was unbearable.
Malam Abubakar Hamisu is the leader of Animal Market at Goron Dutse Animal Market ,He said they are witnessing low patronage from the public at the moment, but they are hoping to have more people that will patronize their commodities in the near future.
It was observed that almost all Markets designated for selling Animals for Sallah Sacrifice were filled up with the commodities but, their is low patronage from the public.
