2 PERSONS HAVE BEEN KILLED IN A FIGHT BETWEEN TWO RIVAL GROUPS IN NIGER                                                                        22-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Two people have been killed in a  clash between two rival youth groups popularly refered to as the Sara_suka in Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger state.

The incident occured this Friday when leader and Commander of one of the group called Kure mobilised about seventeen youths from Minna the state capital on a revenge mission over the killing of their member last year in Kontagora Local Government Area by the orher gang members.

This therefore led to seroius fight between the two camps leading to the death of two persons including the Commander Kure, whọse head was disfigured with many others injured now recieving treatment.

While the tension is right now high in Kontagora and its environs, Chairman of the Local Government Alh Shehu S Pawa warns people of the area to remain calm.

According to him adequate security measures have been put in place to avert repraisal attack and advised them to go about their legitimate busineses without fear of molestation or intimidation.

In an interview Niger state Commissioner of Homeland Security General Mohammed Abdullahi Bello gave an assurance that they are on top of the situation.

General Mohammed Abdullahi Bello however said the culprits will be arrested and any parent that tend to support his ward in the name of seeking for his bail will also be arrested to serve as deterent to others.

Meanwhile there were some reports of arrest by the Police in Niger state.
