By Sadiq Aminu                                                                FCT Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps,FRSC says it has arrested not less than One Hundred traffic offenders in the last one week at the city center during the ongoing Operation Green Light enforcement.

FCT Sector Commander Muta’a Chorrie who stated this while speaking with Newsmen in Abuja said it had become ridiculous that most motorists especially commercial drivers no longer respect traffic lights.

He said the Corps would continue to sanction traffic offenders no matter how highly placed to bring sanity to FCT roads.

On indiscriminate parking by commercial drivers, the FCT Sector Commander said the Corps had increased mobility of patrol to check the excesses of road users.

According to him, the FCT Command has been organizing regular meetings with Transport Union Leaders to address the menace in the Six area Councils of the territory.

He also appealed to motorists to avoid overloading as the Corps would not fold its hands and watch those who are bent on denting the image of the country.

The sector commander however stressed the need for Nigerians to avoid boarding overloaded vehicles as it makes it difficult to manoeuvre during emergency.

He asked road users to drive within the approved speed limit as raining season set in.

According to the FCT traffic management boss it is advisable for motorist to park at the convenient place when the volume of rain is high.
