PRESIDENT TINUBU SAYS HE RECEIVED THE NEWS OF THE COLLAPSE OF A SCHOOL BUILDING IN JOS WITH PROFOUND GRIEF                                                                          12-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                President Bola Tinubu says he received the news of the collapse of a school building, which resulted in multiple deaths and many surviving victims in Jos, Plateau State, with profound grief.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, says the President describes the incident as a huge loss to the nation, as well as a devastating development, too excruciating to imagine.

The President condoles with the bereaved families, families of all the victims, and the people and Government of Plateau State.

He commends the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, security agencies, and the citizens involved in the search, rescue, and resuscitation efforts.

The President assures the people of Plateau State of his fervent support at this difficult time.

President Tinubu also condoles with the family and followers of the Chief Imam of the State, Sheikh Lawal Adam Abubakar, who passed on in Jos on Thursday.

President Tinubu says that the late Imam’s community services and moral leadership will long be remembered.

He prays for the repose of the soul of the deceased cleric, and extends his condolences to the Muslim community, the people and Government of Plateau State.
