SIR ABMF COMMISERATES WITH PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE OF THE STATE OVER THE TRAGIC INCIDENT OF SCHOOL BUILDING COLLAPSE                                                                                                   14-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has commiserated with Plateau State government and people of the state over the tragic and unfortunate incident of school building collapse which resulted to multiple casualties.

In a statement by the Director General of the foundation, Alhaji Abubakar Gambo Umar says stakeholders must take necessary actions to stem losses from such avoidable situations.

Dr Abubakar Umar commended the prompt and diligent emergency rescue services provided at the site of the incident.

He further called on the government to instruct hospitals to prioritize the treatments of the injured students and ensure a continued search and rescue operation for the trapped victims.

Dr Abubakar Gambo Umar also appealed to the government, stakeholders and authorities concern to step up the activities of the development control and inspectorate departments to ensure strict adherence to standards in building construction to avert a reoccurrence of similar tragedy in the future.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who may have lost their loved ones from the tragic collapse of the school building.

The Director General prayed that, the Almighty God will grant the families, the school, and the extended community the fortitude to endure the irreplaceable loss.
