The project was approved by the Governor, who presided over the Zamfara State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Gusau.

The statement added that important issues, including budget performance, were discussed at the state Executive Council meeting.

“The 108-kilometer road project, as outlined in the 2024 Budget, has made significant progress in which the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure obtained the Executive Governor’s consent to commence the due process for the award of contract and authorization of Certificate of no objection from the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

According to the statement, the Governor approved the contract to Dantata and Sawoe Company at the cost of N 81,189,223,505.73 and at the contract duration of 18 months.

The major scopes of works outlined for the project are clearance to the limit of the construction area, total scarification of the existing deteriorated surface, removal of unsuitable material and replacement with approved quality material.

Others are provision of filter material at identified locations, provision of approved laterite fill to makeup levels, provision of different types of hydraulic structures including reinforced concrete drains at identified locations and provisions of access cover slabs.
