GOVERNOR SOLUDO INAUGURATES ANSIEC,    TO CONDUCT LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION IN ANAMBRA STATE SOON                                                                                   07-08-24

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has inaugurated the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC.

Performing the ceremony at Governor’s Lodge Amawbia, Governor Soludo stressed that members of the commission have been called to perform an arduous task, as it concerns the conduct of local government election in the state.

While acknowledging that the law specifically defined their wide range of functions, the governor charged them to expedite action and set a date for the conduct of local government election for the people of the state .

The Anambra State governor also remarked that the conduct of a local government election was a major promise he made to the people of the state when he was inaugurated.

For her part, the ANSIEC Chairman, Magistrate Chinelo Osakwe, thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve and expressed optimism that the committee would deliver on the assignment.

Africa 247 Correspondent reports that the Inauguration was coming after over more than a decade since the last local government election was conducted in the state.
