KESIEC SET TO RECRUITE OVER 7,000 ADHOCK STAFF FOR AUGUST 31ST LG POLLS                                                                  08-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KBSIEC), says, is recruiting over seven thousand adhock staff for the conduct of August 31st local government elections in the state.

The Agency Commissioner incharge of Information and Communication, Muhammad Kaura Danhakimi, who stated this while briefing newsmen, said the adhock staff include Presiding offficers and supervisors.

According to him, the commission is set to conduct a free, fair and credible election.

On the issue of allegation by the opposition party of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, that the agency will not be fair during the forthcoming election, the Commissioner told newsmen that, 2017 and 2019 local government elections, opposition parties worn seat of Councilors in some wards and they were declared winners.

The Commissioner reiterated that, the commission has provided elections guidelines to the 18 registered political parties wishing to participate for the election.

He emphasized that, the fees for the purchase of the agency’s form stand as fixed for 500,000 naira for Chairmanship, Vice Chairman 300,000 naira and 200,000 naira for councisilorship.
