FLOODING SUBMERGES ROAD LINKING JIGAWA TO 3 STATES                                                                                                              13-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  Flooding off the highway connecting Jigawa State to Kano, Gombe and Bauchi states.

The Public Relations Officer of the Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC,ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Dutse.

According to him, the major highway connecting Birnin Kudu to Malawa, Babaldu and neighboring states Gombe and Bauchi has been completely submerged by flood making it difficult for motorists.

ASC Badarudeen therefore, advised motorists to take alternative routes to avoid the affected area.

“The situation is critical. We urge all motorists to exercise caution and take alternative routes to ensure their safety.”

He said that NSCDC personnel have been deployed to the area to redirect motorists and maintain order.

He said the flood also affected nearby communities, with residents reporting damage to homes and farmlands.
