POLICE RESCUES 20 ABDUCTED VICTIMS IN KWARA STATE                                                                                                                              17-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  Kwara State Police Command has rescued twenty passengers abducted by suspected kidnappers on Osi/Obbo -Aiyegunle road.

In a statement spokesperson of the command ,DSP Toun Ejinre-Adeyemi said the gunmen abducted the passengers from three commercial vehicles and forcefully led them into the surrounding bush.

The statement said upon receipt of this distress call the Command in collaboration with local vigilantes, swiftly mobilized the Divisional patrol team and other tactical teams who launched a thorough search operation.

The statement said the operation took place within the forest area between Obbo-Aiyegunle and Obbo-Ile.

The statement explained that the concerted efforts of Police detectives, vigilante and community members led to the successful rescued of the victims.

The statement noted that three of the victims who sustained gunshot injuries on their legs during the attack have been taken to hospital for medical attention.

The statement urge the general public to remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station for prompt action.
