YOBE STATE GOVERNMENT BEGINS PAYMENT OF N90,000 TO YB-CARES BENEFICIARIES                                                                                19-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               Yobe state government has approved the recommencement of payment of Ninety thousand Naira (90,000) Yobe COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (YB-CARES) to Nine Thousand and Twenty (9,020) beneficiaries, under Yobe State Cash Transfer Unit.

The programme manager, Alhaji Ali Madu Kagu, made the disclosure during the flag-off ceremony of the payment at Fune local government Secretariat in Damagum, Yobe State.

Alhaji Kagu explained that the amount would be used for the payment of stipends to nine thousand and twenty (9,020) beneficiaries, consisting of the Aged, Chronically ill and persons living with disabilities, across the 17 LGAs of the state.

He commended the State Governor Mai Mala Buni for his continued support to the programme, aimed at enhancing the living condition of vulnerable members of the society.

The executive chairman fune local government council, Alhaji Baba Goni Bade, appreciated the governor for initiating the program in the state, adding that about Four Hundred and Fifty Nine (459) people in the local government are benefiting from the intervention.

He appealed to the state government to increase the number of the beneficiaries considering the high population of the local government area.

Some of the beneficiaries who received the stipend in Damagum, Bawarima Wakil and Ladi Umaru Town, expressed delight and gratitude to the state government for the gesture.
