BOAT MISHAP CLAIMS THREE LIVES IN KANO STATE                                                                                                                                              22-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                A devastating boat accident occurred in Kauran Mata ward, Madobi Local Government area of Kano State has resulted to the loss of three lives.

The ill-fated boat, carrying 14 passengers, including the driver and his assistant, capsized while en route from Karfi to Kauran Mata. The incident was confirmed by Saminu Yusif, spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service.

According to Yusif Mohammad, the councillor of Kauran Mata ward, One Aminu Garba, alerted the fire service about the accident. Upon arrival, they found that three passengers had died on the spot, while five were rescued alive. Unfortunately, six passengers remain missing, and a search operation is ongoing.

“The incident occured on Monday evening at Kauran Mata ward, Madobi Local Government area, Kano State the boat was carrying Number of passengers14 including driver and assistant.

“So far we’ve recorded 3 Number of deaths while 5 passengers were rescued, and 6 person were still missing.

Speaking to journalist the public relations officer of Kano Fire Service Saminu Abdullahi noted that the Fire Service has launched a search and rescue operation to locate the missing passengers,adding that the cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
