DEATHS TOLL RISES TO 3 IN KANO BUILDING COLLAPSE                                                                                                                                   07-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says the death toll from the building collapse in Noman’s Land Quarters, Fagge Local Government Area of Kano, has increased to three. Two people were injured in the incident.

NEMA Coordinator, Dr. Nuraddeen Abdullahi, confirmed that four people were initially rescued, including a husband, wife, and two children.

He said two children were pronounced dead, while the couple was taken to the hospital for treatment.

“A third body was later recovered from the rubble, and efforts are still underway to rescue one remaining trapped victim, a girl who may have fallen into nearby water”

Abdullahi hinted that the search and rescue team includes NEMA, Kano State Fire Service, Police, Red Cross, NSCDC, SEMA, and volunteers.

Recall that the building collapse occurred on Thursday at 2 am.
