POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED CRIMINALS, RECOVERS WEAPONS, STOLEN ITEMS IN KANO                                                                                                                         02-09-24

               By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Kano State Police Command has recorded significant successes in its fight against crime, with 19 cases of arrests and recoveries in the past month.

The Public relations officer of the Command Superintendent Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa disclosed this while parading the Suspects and Recovering items at the Police Headquarters Bompai Kano.

He said the command has arrested a total of 35 suspects in connection with various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, theft, drug dealing, and fraud.

Kiyawa noted that Dangerous weapons, stolen vehicles, solar batteries, mobile phones, and counterfeit currency were among the items recovered.

“Some notable cases include the arrest of five suspected armed robbers on August 12, who were connected to a robbery incident at Hotoro Quarters, Kano. A motor vehicle and a locally made gun were recovered.”

“On July 18, two suspected kidnappers were arrested, and two kidnapped victims were rescued in a deep forest in Gubuchi Village, Makari LGA, Kaduna State.”

The Public relations officer maintained that Five suspected thieves were arrested on August 27, and five solar batteries were recovered in Warawa LGA, Kano.

” Two mobile phone armed robbers were arrested on August 26, and a sharp knife and a stolen mobile phone were recovered in Dorayi Quarters, Kano.”

He explained that the command also arrested three suspected drug dealers on August 26, and 98 pieces of Exol tablets and a block of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered in Yan-tagwage Quarters, Kano.

“Other cases include the arrest of suspected fraudsters, motorcycle thieves, and armed robbers, as well as the recovery of stolen motor vehicles and counterfeit currency.”

He added that the Kano State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting crime and ensuring the safety of citizens in the state.
