FRSC COMMENCES INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE OF ACCIDENT ALONG BIDA-AGAIE-LAPAI- ROAD IN NIGER STATE                                                                                                 11-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has commenced investigation into the the cause of accident that claimed the lives of 48 people and killed fifty cows along Bida-Agaie-Lapai- Road in Niger State.

The Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, stated this in Minna when he paid condolence visit to the government of Niger State

Mr. Mallam Mohammed who explained that Corps safety Engineering office has been directed to get to the root of the accident, noted that the outcome of the investigation would be forwarded to the appropriate authority for consideration.

He said FRSC would establish outpost close to the vicinity of the accident to increase the visibility of the Corps and to ensure quick response to emergencies.

The Corps Marshal urged Passengers to always speak out when motorists and other road users fail to adhere to safety rules.

Mallam Shehu Mohammed pointed out that the Corps would continue to align with the United Nations safe system approach to reduce Road Crashes in Nigeria.

Governor Umar Bago of Niger State represented by his Deputy, Yakubu Garba, while thanking the FRSC for their visit to condole with the state over the ugly incident tasked the Corps to enforce strict compliance of the road safety rules and regulations by the Motorists and other Road users.

The Niger State governor called for total overhaul of the nation’s road sector to minimize road accidents caused by bad roads.

The Governor reiterated the commitment of Niger State in Supporting Federal Government agencies in the State to deliver on their mandates.

Earlier the Corps Marshal Mallam Shehu Mohammed was at the Minna sector command of the FRSC to Speak with the officers and men on the need to redouble their efforts for effective traffic management in Niger state.
