CANDIDATES OF THE All PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS IN THE 16 LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF KWARA STATE DECLARED WINNERS                                                                                                                                       22-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  Candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Saturday’s Local Council Election in Kwara State have been declared in all the sixteen local Government Areas of the State.

The declaration was made by the Chairman, Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, KWASIEC, Alhaji Mohammed Baba-Okanla at a press conference earlier today.

Alhaji Baba-Okanla stated that electoral and returning officers had filed their results.

While giving a breakdown of the results, the KWASIEC Chairman stated that candidates of the APC secured the sixteen chairmanship seats and one hundred and ninety-three councillorship seats.

He commended the political parties for their commitment to peaceful electoral process, the law enforcement agencies for maintaining law and order, the electorate and the media.

Last Saturday’s Council elections in Kwara State was held after seven years.

Five political parties participated in the exercise.

They are Accord Party, APC, APM, PDP and SDP.
