GOVERNOR ABDULLAHI SULE DIRECTS NASIEC TO COMMENCE PREPARATIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF LG ELECTIONS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT                                                                                                                   01-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has directed the state independent Electoral commission NASIEC to commence preparations for the conduct of local government elections in the state with immediate effect..

Governor Sule gave the directive in a Broadcast to the people of the state on the sixty Fourth Nigeria independence and Twenty Eight anniversary of the state…

He described the local government councils as the tier of government closer to the people at the grassroots hence the need to ensure good governance through credible and transparent election of executives..

The Governor reiterated his commitment to conducting a free fair credible and acceptable local government polls in the state as soon as possible..

Governor Sule explained that since his assumption of office in 2019, he has continued to take deliberate steps towards exploring and harnessing the abundant economic potentials across the the state for sustainable growth and development of the state..

The tenure of incumbent local government chairmen in Nasarawa state will expire on the 7th of October 2024..
