By Sadiq Aminu                                                             President Bola Tinubu has has expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Armed Forces for its patriotic commitment to the nation’s unity, stability, and progress.

The President expressed his gratitude in Abuja while launching the 2025 Emblem Fund and Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day is annually marked on the 15th of January to honour the nation’s fallen heroes, who paid the supreme sacrifice during the First and Second World Wars.

The Emblem Appeal Fund, which President Tinubu launched today, precedes the actual event of the Remembrance Day, during which the President will lead relevant officials in laying wreaths at the memorial site in Abuja.

During today’s ceremony, the President said his administration was committed to the values, principles, belief, and the unity and stability of the country, from which they hope to pass on to the next generation, a banner without stain.

“No matter what economic theory we propagate or postulate, if we have no security, we cannot promote peace and development. I am grateful to all of you on behalf of the country.

“We have to continue to strive to eliminate conflict in our country, eliminate terrorism, banditry, and make priority the stability of the country”, the President advised.

He gave the assurance that the government would sustain the provision of welfare to members of the Armed Forces.

The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru, had urged Nigerians to demonstrate solidarity and support to the Armed Forces by way of buying the Emblem and putting it on with pride.
