SULTAN OF SOKOTO, CALLS ON MUSLIMS IN THE COUNTRY TO START LOOKING FOR THE NEW MOON OF JIMADA-UlA TOMORROW                                                                            30-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Saad Abubakar has called on the Muslims in the country to start looking for the new moon of Jimada Ula tomorrow Friday 1st of November 2024,equivalent to Islamic calendar 29th of Rabiul Assani1446AH

In a statement signed by the chairman Advisory Committee on Islamic Religious affairs Sultanate Council Sokoto state Pro. Sambo Wali Junaidu,Wazirin Sokoto says if sighted, the information should be forwarded to the nearest district or village head for onward commutation to the Sultan.

The statement cited that the Monthly Observation of the moon,clarifies the Islamic Calendar within a given year, thereby making the month of Ramadan moon sightings more acceptable to the general Muslims in the Country.
