SULTAN OF SOKOTO DECLARES TODAY THE 3RD OF NOVEMBER AS THE FIRST DAY OF JUMADA-ULA 1446AH , ISLAMIC CALENDAR                                                                     03-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 His eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared today the 3rd of November as the first day of Jumada Ula1446AH , Islamic calendar.

In a statement signed by chairman Advisory Committee for religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu.

The Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs together with the National Moonsighting Committee across the country, did not receive information confirming the sighting of the new crescent of Jumada Ula on Saturday the thirtieth of Rabiul Assani 1446AH, equivalent to the 2nd November 2024 , noting that today Sunday the 3rd of November is the 1st day of Jumada Ula 1446AH .

The statement cited that the Monthly Observation of the moon,clarifies the Islamic Calendar within a given year, thereby making the month of Ramadan moon sightings more acceptable to the general Muslims in the Country.
