TWO DIE IN THE AGYARAGU COMMUNITY, OBI LGA OF NASARAWA STATE, FOLLOWING A VIOLENT CLASH                                                                                                                     03-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Two people have been confirmed dead in the Agyaragu Community, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, following a violent clash between a Police Special Constabulary officer and a soldier.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Nasarawa, DSP Ramhan Nansel, told newsmen that two police stations in the community were also attacked.

According to DSP Nansel, the altercation began when a soldier on leave got into a fight with a police Special Constabulary officer in Agyaragu, resulting in both parties stabbing each other, which led to the soldier’s death.

In response, youths from the soldier’s neighbouring community reportedly mobilized and attacked, setting the police stations on fire.

DSP Nansel added that calm has since been restored in the area after a visit from the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Shehu Nadada.
