PRESIDENT TINUBU CALLS ON THE 7 NEWLY-APPOINTED MINISTERS TO PREPARE to MAKE SACRIFICES TO REPOSITION THE STATUS OF THE COUNTRY.                                                                                                               04-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   President Bola Tinubu has has called on the 7 newly-appointed Ministers to prepare to make sacrifices to reposition the status of the country.

While swearing them in at the State House, Abuja, the President told them that the moment was challenging, stressing that the present situation calls for a very serious commitment.

He warned them that they would face criticisms and become subjects of scorn, but that they should remain focused and resilient until the aim of the administration is achieved.

“I really appreciate the fact that you have taken the Oath of office and ready to serve your nation at the time we are facing the challenges of economic growth and other items like security challenges and others”, the President said.

The President, who congratulated and thanked them for accepting to serve their country, also commended the National Assembly for their expeditious review and commitment to duty on the screening of the new Ministers.

“It is not easy to find just the unique people that will surrender their lives, freedoms and other responsibilities to serve their nation anytime in this time of challenges . I am sincerely happy that you have done that and that you are here today to be part, to be a very committed team of Nigerians who have been working tirelessly since 17 months ago that we assumed the responsibility of governing this country”, he noted.

He told them that despite the high cost of living being experienced, economic recovery was on the horizon.

“For us it was a challenge when the nation was servicing its debt with 97 percent of its revenue , it’s nothing but end of the cliff , But today I can report to you that we brought that one down and it is down to 65% , and we have never defaulted in paying or meeting all obligations, both foreign and domestic”, President Tinubu stated.

President Tinubu humble-bragged that his reforms had stopped whom he described as the scavengers, pledging that they will also stop profiteers and smugglers of the country’s resources, assuring that he will not run the country aground.
